Katowice - Co-host

Katowice, located in the southern part of Poland, is the capital of the country’s first metropolis. It consists of 41 cities, with more than 2.5 million people.

Katowice is a well-connected city, near which the A1 and A4 highways intersect, allowing travel in all directions across Europe. Some of the cities in the metropolis are connected by the controlled-access highway named Drogowa Trasa Średnicowa, which runs through the center of Katowice, and the dense network of railway lines makes it possible to comfortably reach Prague, Vienna, Budapest, or Berlin in just a few hours. Located about 30 km north of the center of Katowice, in Pyrzowice, Katowice International Airport is one of the largest and most dynamically developing airports in the country. Moreover, within a 100 km radius, there are two other international airports – in Krakow and Czech Ostrava.

Metropolis GZM - Partner

41 cities and communes with a total area of 2,500 sq km, where 2.1 million residents live, with 280,000 companies and enterprises, generating approx. 8 percent of our country’s GDP. This is Metropolis GZM – Poland’s first metropolis. The implementation of statutory tasks began on 1 January 2018.

The residents of the center of the Silesian Province have for years felt that they have been functioning in a coherent urban organism, where administrative borders were purely contractual. Therefore, the creation of the Metropolis in the center of the Silesian Province was something natural.

To us, the most important goal is to take actions to improve the quality and comfort of life of residents by introducing joint solutions. We want to use the potential of member communes, stimulate the creativity of residents and inspire change, enabling the acceleration of economic and social processes, leading to the creation of a growth center that can compete with other metropolitan areas in the country and in the world.

NASK - Partner

NASK
Cybersecurity | Science | Digitization

NASK is a state research institute working every day to make the Internet safe and accessible to all.

Our mission brings together scientific research, technology development, and practical solutions to strengthen security in cyberspace.

As an interdisciplinary research center, NASK specializes in cybersecurity, artificial intelligence (AI), and advanced computing technologies.
We conduct cutting-edge research in areas such as AI system security, post-quantum cryptography, synthetic content analysis (including deepfake detection), and threat identification in networks and mobile environments. Our teams develop machine learning algorithms to enhance the resilience of digital systems and create new methods for data analysis and protection.

Projects like HIVE and AIPITCH support the development of Polish language models, the creation of adaptive and secure AI systems, and the design of next-generation cybersecurity technologies. We also explore large-scale data processing, the Internet of Things (IoT), and quantum cryptography—addressing the complex challenges of the digital era.

Our organizational structure includes:

  • AI Security Research Center
Focused on the security of artificial intelligence systems.
  • Cybersecurity R&D Division
    Develops modern, effective cybersecurity technologies.
  • Cloud Computing and Intelligent Networks Division
Conducts research on secure IoT environments and quantum communication
  • Science Development Office
